A native of Nebraska, I have always been drawn to the natural world. Originally educated and trained as a public accountant, I transitioned to the full-time pursuit of art in 1993. I attended art school in Duluth, Minnesota, where I developed a deep connection with clay while also immersing myself in the surrounding wilderness.

My experiences in nature and travel have greatly influenced my artistic perspective. In 1994, I traveled to Nepal with a women’s expedition group from Seattle to trek and climb Mera Peak, reaching elevations of over 21,000 feet. While I have often enjoyed traveling with others, I have also sought opportunities for solitude in nature to deepen my connection with the environment. That same year, I spent six weeks camping alone throughout the desert Southwest.

In 1995, I relocated from Minnesota to California, where I explored Yosemite and the rugged northern coastline through a series of extended trips. From California, I later moved to Vermont and now reside in St. Augustine, Florida, with my husband, Mark.
